Recently I was watching a video clip on leadership and was reminded of a simple and yet helpful way to stir our hearts for the mission God has given us in our community. The suggestion was given to change your habits in some simple way in order to open your eyes to what's around you. Go a different way home from work, drive through a shopping or dining area late at night when you'd usually be in bed, walk through your neighborhood at a time your normally wouldn't.
These kinds of simple exercises can help to jolt us from our complacency, stir our hearts for the community around us and lead us to plead for the salvation of the lost.
I'm not saying this kind of thing is a silver bullet; but God just may use it to help awaken us to the mission field he's called us to.
